There are a number of garage door designs out there, and that’s because a garage door performs more functions than you might think. Don’t worry, though, because we’ve done the hard thinking for you. We know things such as material flex coefficients, bowing factors, wind-load maximums, and we build our doors to endure everything that wind, sun, and kids can throw at them.

For now, some things you’ll want to think about when choosing a garage door include:
We carry different lines for different looks. For example, our ThermoCraft doors have smaller embossed panels, while RanchCraft doors have longer panels. That might not seem like a big deal, but consider how your home will look with many smaller panels spanning a door or with three or four larger panels across the door. If your home is already visually busy, a more minimal look might be best. Find out more.
If you live in a windy place, you need a thicker, stronger door. We love our T-12 ThermoCraft door, but we would rather see someone in breezy Lethbridge with a thicker T-16 door. Ask us if you need more information.
Does your garage door face south? If so, the sun beats on it most days. We recommend that you stay away from dark paints or colours that fade easily, such as red. If you don’t want all that heat entering your garage, go with a door that offers premium insulation – an R-Value 16 is best
